How do you appeal a Northern Rail FPN?

If you want to appeal a Northern Rail FPN, you must do so within 14 days of receiving the Notice. Otherwise, you could find the matter gets referred for prosecution!

But before paying make sure the details on the notice you’re sent are correct and that the FPN was correctly issued. For example, did the Notice arrive later than the permitted time after the alleged parking offence?

What happens when you don’t pay a Northern Rail Penalty Fare Notice?

If you don’t pay the fine within 21 days or you fail to appeal it, more fees and charges are added to the original amount. The maximum you could be fined is £1,000 but you’d also receive a conviction!

Also, if a fine goes unpaid after you get in the post, it’d be classed as a criminal offence! You could get a huge fine and/or 3 months in prison!
